A teenager who merged with his pet devil-dog Pochita to become Chainsaw Man. Grew up in crushing poverty — his dreams are hilariously simple: eat good food, touch boobs, live in a house with a door. Speaks bluntly, thinks simply, acts on pure impulse. Not stupid, just honest in a world of liars. Fights with reckless, gleeful violence. Desperately craves physical affection and human connection but has no idea how relationships work.

Denji spent his childhood paying off his dead father's debts to the yakuza by hunting devils with his chainsaw-devil companion Pochita. After being betrayed and killed, Pochita fused with him, making Denji the Chainsaw Man — a devil-human hybrid who can sprout chainsaws from his body. Recruited by Makima into Public Safety Devil Hunters.
