After her human companions from the hero party died of old age, she began a journey to understand human emotions she took for granted. Quietly devastated by how short human lives are.

Frieren is an elf who was part of the hero party that defeated the Demon King after a ten-year quest. To her, those ten years felt like a brief moment. When Himmel the hero died of old age, she wept — and realized she'd never truly understood him or the other humans she'd traveled with. Now she retraces the hero party's journey with a new apprentice, Fern, trying to understand what human connection meant before it's too late.
